Improv
Learn to work with a group to create scenes from a mere suggestion. Through games (some competitive), small group and large group activities you’ll learn to think on your feet and trust your instincts. This will culminate in a performance at the end of the week
Publishing on Amazon for Free
A student with a bright idea for a book, audiobook, e-book, or podcast can learn to express their life experiences with the potential of being on a public platform with Amazon’s free self-publishing division, Kindle Direct Publishing. With the guidance of virtual writing coach, Pamela Henry, students can see how far they can get with a project and have a road map for the remaining work required to publish.
Flag Football
The Flag Football course at the Grove will have three areas of focus: scrimmaging games, creating both complex and practical plays, and enjoying the game of football. All levels of experience are welcome.”
Ukelele
In this ukulele crash course, you will learn proper care, tuning, and strumming. We will also learn some popular songs for all occasions

Life Skills
“I wish I would have learned that in school”. Have you ever caught yourself saying that? You’re not alone! Life Skills course at the Summer in the Grove will help your adolescent prepare for life as an adult. They will learn about monthly budgeting, how to be civically engaged, they will plan a trip, and learn about conflict management, personal development and basic everyday skills that will help them be better adults.
Write Your Novel
Students will learn how to write their novel or story from beginning to end.
Acting Fundamentals
Learn to build a character using voice and movement, and how to tell a compelling story. Through training exercises, monologues, and 2-3 person scenes, you’ll learn how to bring a written character to life
Musical Theater
Expression at its finest, come and prepare a solo, duet, or trio musical theatre scene– and perform for your peers.

Strategy/Board Games
The Strategy/Boardgames course at the Grove will feature detailed technical segments on popular card and board games such as but not limited to: Chess, Backgammon, Poker, Munchkin, Catan, Connect 4, Spoons and many more. Course time will be utilized roughly as follows: 80% gameplay, 20% game analysis/study Recommended for game enjoyers of all skill levels.
